Ltd “ZAAO” (ZAAO) Environmental Competence and Education Centre (ECEC) invites you to take part in the fifth session of the programme “Family Budget Planning While Living Greener.” The topic of this session will be “The Impact of Water Consumption and Conservation on the Environment,” and it will take place online on 10 February. This will also be the first session in the entire programme cycle to be held remotely, providing an opportunity for a wider audience to get involved.
From 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., several experts will participate in the online session, including Latvian Television weather news editor Toms Bricis, sustainable development specialist Ramona Višņevska, Baltic Environmental Forum environmental experts Agnese Meija-Toropova and Irina Paegle, as well as SIA “Vinda” chemical technologist Sandra Vasiļevska.

During the session, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the water cycle in nature and the impact of climate change on this process, the main sources of water consumption in households, and simple ways to save water in everyday life. The impact of household chemicals and microplastics on water pollution will also be discussed, as well as more environmentally friendly alternatives to cleaning products and the consequences caused by microplastics for water ecosystems, animals, and human health.
