In September and October, as part of the LIFE Integrated Project, a series of six seminars titled "Circular Economy and Efficient Waste Management: Opportunities and Challenges" will take place across Latvia. During these seminars, solutions to current challenges in improving waste management and implementing circular economy principles will be explored.
The aim of the seminar series is to provide specialists from municipalities, waste management, property management, and environmental organizations with the opportunity to share their experience in efficient waste management, foster discussions on implementing circular economy principles in municipalities, and work on solutions to the current challenges of circular economy implementation and waste management.
Each seminar will focus on a specific challenge related to waste management or the implementation of circular economy principles in municipalities. Therefore, environmental specialists from municipal institutions, experts from regional waste management centers and waste management companies, property managers, representatives of other businesses concerned with environmental issues in their municipalities, as well as representatives and activists from environmental organizations, are invited to participate. During the event, participants will actively work in groups to collectively find solutions to the identified problems, and the seminars will be supplemented with presentations related to the seminar’s topic. At the conclusion, participants will have the opportunity to visit a site that serves as a good practice example in the field of waste management.
